Configuration Guide for 750-362

Before you start

Before you begin, make sure:

  • The WAGO I/O system 750 is physically installed

  • The 24V DC power supply is connected to the fieldbus coupler

  • All I/O modules are properly installed on the carrier rail

  • The end module 750-600 is installed to complete the node

  • You have the default login credentials available


Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Connect the fieldbus coupler to the network

  1. Connect the 24V DC power supply to the supply terminals of the fieldbus coupler

  2. Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the two RJ-45 ports on the 750-362 fieldbus coupler (see diagram below)

  3. Verify the connection is established

2. Access the WAGO web interface

  1. Make sure your PC is connected to the same network as the fieldbus coupler

  2. Determine the IP address of the fieldbus coupler using DHCP (default setting with Address Selection Switch set to 0)

  3. Open a web browser and enter the IP address in the address bar

  4. Log in with the default credentials:

    • Admin account - Username: admin, Password: wago

    • User account - Username: user, Password: user

  5. Set your own username and password when prompted on first login

3. Configure the Ethernet settings

  1. Navigate to:
    NetworkEthernet

  2. Configure the network settings as needed for your installation

  3. Click Submit to save your changes

4. Enable communication via Modbus TCP

  1. Navigate to Protocols

  2. Enable Modbus TCP protocol

  3. Set the port to 502

  4. Click Submit to save your changes

  5. Reboot the device if prompted

5. Verify I/O module configuration

  1. Navigate to IO DATA

  2. Review the connected I/O terminals shown in the overview

  3. If you have changed the number or configuration of modules, click Submit to apply the changes

6. Discover the fieldbus coupler in the commissioning wizard

The fieldbus coupler is now ready for the commissioning wizard. The gateway will scan the network to find available devices, which may take a few minutes. Once complete, the WAGO 750-362 will appear on the results page.

7. Connect the fieldbus coupler to the gateway

After the scan completes and the fieldbus coupler is discovered, click Next in the commissioning wizard to proceed to the connection screen. The device will connect automatically.


Frequently asked questions

Why isn't the fieldbus coupler appearing in the commissioning wizard?

Check that the 24V DC power supply is connected and the Ethernet cable is plugged in. Verify that Modbus TCP is enabled on port 502. Make sure the end module 750-600 is installed. Restart the gateway and wait up to 5 minutes.

How do I update the firmware of the fieldbus coupler?

Download the latest firmware from the WAGO website and perform the update through the WAGO Web-Based Management UI.

How do I reset the fieldbus coupler to factory settings?

Navigate to Administration in the Web-Based Management UI and select SOFTWARE RESET. This will reset the device to default settings

Can I use any Ethernet port on the fieldbus coupler?

Yes, the 750-362 has two RJ-45 ports and there are no restrictions on which one to use.
