Overview

To enable energy procurement planning and support future flexibility trading, Tariff Timer provides power consumption and production forecasts at the Grid Connection Point (GCP) level. The forecast shows how much power the household is expected to import from or export to the grid.

How the Forecast is Calculated

The GCP forecast is derived from the calculated decision schedules of all connected assets (Battery, EV, etc.) aimed at minimizing onsite electricity costs.

  • 15-Minute Updates: The forecast is continuously recalculated every 15 minutes following each iteration of the Time-of-Use (ToU) optimization.

  • Real-Time Inputs: This frequent updating ensures that the most recent "live" data from the field (e.g., current Battery SoC or unexpected EV plugging) is reflected in the 48-hour outlook.

GCP power forecasts may differ significantly from actual values, as ToU prioritizes optimal system operation over forecast accuracy

Developer Resources (API)

Developers can retrieve GCP forecast data via the following API endpoints:

Data Privacy & PV Forecasts

To provide high-accuracy PV generation forecasts, XENON utilizes a specialized third-party provider. To enable this service, the following data points are securely transferred to the provider:

  • System UUID: A unique identifier for the installation.

  • System Location: Exact Longitude and Latitude coordinates.

  • PV Nominal Capacity: The total peak power (kWp) of the installed solar array.

  • Azimuth and Tilt Angle: The orientation of the solar panels.
