Before you start
Before you begin, make sure:
You have the K 40 gateway
The heat pump is physically installed and powered on
The K 40 gateway is updated to the latest software version
The IVT Anywhere App is installed on your device
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Connect the heat pump to the network
Connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the K 40 gateway
Verify the connection is established by checking the LED on the gateway or in the IVT Anywhere App
For network infrastructure requirements and troubleshooting, see Infrastructure requirements for the gateway.
2. Discover the heat pump in the commissioning wizard
The heat pump is now ready for the commissioning wizard. The gateway will scan the network to find available devices, which may take a few minutes. Once complete, the heat pump will appear on the results page.
Indicate whether the heat pump's electricity is billed on a dedicated heatpump tariff or as part of household consumption. Heat pumps on a dedicated tariff are excluded from self-sufficiency optimization.
3. Connect the heat pump to the gateway
After the scan completes and the heat pump is discovered, click Next in the commissioning wizard to proceed to the EEBUS connection screen.
On this screen, click Pair to initiate the EEBUS pairing process
Accept the pairing on the heat pump
Navigate to
System overview → More → System → Settings → EEBUS → CommissioningClick Search EEBUS devices and wait for the scan to finish
Select the gateway and confirm the device details
Wait for coupling to finish and verify the connection
FAQ
Why isn't the heat pump appearing in the commissioning wizard?
Check that the K 40 gateway is connected via Ethernet and that EEBUS commissioning is complete. Verify that you've selected the gateway during the EEBUS device scan. Restart the gateway and wait for the network scan to complete.
How do I update the firmware of the heat pump?
You can perform the update through the IVT Anywhere App or the K 40 gateway web portal.
For detailed update instructions, refer to the official IVT documentation.
What is the K 40 gateway?
The K 40 gateway is a communication module for IVT heat pumps. It connects to the heat pump's RF interface and provides an Ethernet port for network connectivity. The module is required to connect an IVT heat pump to the gateway.
What does "Trust" mean in the EEBUS settings?
"Trust" is the authorization that permits the gateway to communicate with the heat pump via EEBUS. When you complete the pairing process in the commissioning wizard and accept on the heat pump side, the heat pump grants trust to the gateway. Without this authorization, the gateway cannot monitor or control the heat pump.
