Before you start
Before you begin, make sure:
The heat pump is physically installed and powered on
The Vitoconnect communication module is connected to the heat pump
The Vitoconnect is updated to the latest software version
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Connect the heat pump to the network
Connect the heat pump to the Vitoconnect communication module
Connect an Ethernet cable to the communication module
Verify the connection is established by checking the LED on the communication module

2. Access the heat pump settings
Open a browser on your device
Navigate to the heat pump's web portal using its default address http://vitoconnect
Enter your credentials and log in to the web portal
3. Enable communication via EEBUS
Navigate to
EEBUS Configuration/ManagementActivate EEBUS by clicking on Activation
Click on Reboot Vitoconnect and wait until it has restarted
4. Discover the heat pump in the commissioning wizard
The heat pump is now ready for the commissioning wizard. The gateway will scan the network to find available devices, which may take a few minutes. Once complete, the heat pump will appear on the results page.
Indicate whether the heat pump's electricity is billed on a dedicated heatpump tariff or as part of household consumption. Heat pumps on a dedicated tariff are excluded from self-sufficiency optimization.
5. Connect the heat pump to the gateway
After the scan completes and the heat pump is discovered, click Next in the commissioning wizard to proceed to the EEBUS connection screen.
On this screen, click Pair to initiate the EEBUS pairing process
Accept the pairing on the heat pump
Navigate to
EEBUS Configuration/ManagementClick Start Discovery and wait for the scan to finish
Select the gateway from the Discovered devices and confirm the device details
Wait for coupling to finish and verify the connection
6. Configure heat pump controller settings
On the heat pump controller, configure the following settings:

FAQ
Why isn't the heat pump appearing in the commissioning wizard?
Check that the Vitoconnect is connected via Ethernet and that EEBUS is activated in the web portal. Verify that you've completed the EEBUS discovery and selected the gateway SKI. Restart the gateway and wait for the network scan to complete.
How do I update the firmware of the Vitoconnect?
You can perform the update through the Viessmann ViCare App.

What are the login credentials for the Vitoconnect web portal?
The default username is admin. The default password is the last 8 digits of the manufacturer number printed on the Vitoconnect label.
What if I have forgotten the login credentials?
If you have forgotten the credentials, check the manufacturer number on the Vitoconnect device label. The default password is always the last 8 digits of this number. Contact Viessmann support if you are unable to recover access.
Why can't I access the Vitoconnect web portal?
Try accessing via http://vitoconnect. Note that Vitoconnect is not displayed as "Vitoconnect" in the network. If the address does not resolve, check that the Vitoconnect is connected to the same network as your device and that it has fully restarted after enabling EEBUS.
Why is the EEBUS device showing as not connected?
Make sure you've completed the pairing process in the commissioning wizard first. The EEBUS connection will only show as "connected" in green after successful pairing between the gateway and the heat pump.
