Before you start

Before you begin, make sure:

  • The charging station is physically installed and powered on

  • The go-e app is installed on your device

  • The charging station is updated to the latest software version

  • You have the reset card with credentials or the password set during initial commissioning

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Connect the charging station to the network

  1. Use the go-e app to set up the WiFi connection for the charging station

  2. Verify in the go-e app that the charging station is connected to your local WiFi network

Ensure a connection strength (RSSI) of at least -70 dBm, but preferably a constant -50 dBm to avoid malfunctions and sporadic system rescans due to connection issues. The signal strength can be found in the go-e app (Internet/hardware information).

For network infrastructure requirements and troubleshooting, see Infrastructure requirements for the gateway.

2. Access the charging station settings

  1. Open the go-e app

  2. Follow the app setup assistant to add your go-e charger

  3. Log in with your installer credentials

3. Enable communication via HTTP

  1. Navigate to:
    SettingsConnectionAPI Settings

  2. Configure the following HTTP API settings:

    • Allow access to local HTTP API v2: On

    • Allow access to local HTTP API v1: On

  3. Save the settings

4. Disable button functions

The charging station is controlled by the gateway, so all other control options must be deactivated.

  1. Navigate to:
    SettingsSecurityAccess control

  2. Configure the following Access control settings:

    • Power level: Always locked

    • Start charging process: Always locked

  3. Save the settings

5. Discover the charging station in the commissioning wizard

The charging station is now ready for the commissioning wizard. The gateway will scan the network to find available devices, which may take a few minutes. Once complete, the charging station will appear on the results page.

FAQ

Why isn't the charging station appearing in the commissioning wizard?

Check that the charging station is connected via WiFi with a signal strength of at least -70 dBm. Verify that HTTP API v1 and v2 are enabled in the go-e app (Settings → Connection → API Settings). Restart the gateway and wait for the network scan to complete.

How do I update the firmware of the charging station?

You can perform the update through the go-e app. For detailed update instructions, refer to the official go-e documentation.

What are the login credentials for the go-e app?

The installer credentials are set during initial commissioning of the charging station. There is no factory default — you created the password the first time you logged in.

What if I have forgotten the installer credentials?

Perform a factory reset on the device to restore the original factory state. Refer to the manufacturer's documentation for reset instructions.

Why is WiFi connection strength important?

The gateway communicates with the charging station over the local network. Poor WiFi signal (below -70 dBm) can cause intermittent connection drops, missed commands, and system rescans. A strong signal (-50 dBm or better) ensures reliable control.

Why must button functions be disabled?

The gateway requires exclusive control of the charging process to manage energy flows correctly. If manual controls via the app or physical buttons remain active, they can conflict with the gateway's commands and disrupt the energy management system.
