Configuration Guide for go-e CORE and go-e Pro

Written by Rami Ammari

Before you start

Before you begin, make sure:

  • The charging station is physically installed and powered on

  • The go-e app is installed on your device

  • The charging station is updated to the latest software version

  • You have the reset card with credentials or the password set during initial commissioning

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Connect the charging station to the network

  1. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the charging station

  2. Verify the connection is established by checking the go-e app

For network infrastructure requirements and troubleshooting, see Infrastructure requirements for the gateway.

2. Access the charging station settings

  1. Open the go-e app

  2. Follow the app setup assistant to add your go-e charger

  3. Log in with your installer credentials

3. Enable communication via Modbus

  1. Navigate to:
    SettingsConnectionAPI Settings

  2. Configure the following Modbus TCP settings:

    • Allow local Modbus TCP API: True

    • Swap Registers: True

  3. Save the settings

4. Discover the charging station in the commissioning wizard

The charging station is now ready for the commissioning wizard. The gateway will scan the network to find available devices, which may take a few minutes. Once complete, the charging station will appear on the results page.

FAQ

Why isn't the charging station appearing in the commissioning wizard?

Check that the charging station is connected via Ethernet and that Modbus TCP API is enabled in the go-e app (Settings → Connection → API Settings). Verify that "Allow local Modbus TCP API" and "Swap Registers" are both set to True. Restart the gateway and wait for the network scan to complete.

How do I update the firmware of the charging station?

You can perform the update through the go-e app. For detailed update instructions, refer to the official go-e documentation.

Where do I find the device password?

The password is either the one you set during initial commissioning of the charging station, or the default password printed on the reset card.

What if I have forgotten the password?

Use the reset card to restore the default password. The reset card contains the factory default credentials. Refer to the manufacturer's documentation for reset instructions.

What are the "Swap Registers" setting for?

The "Swap Registers" setting must be set to True for proper Modbus TCP communication with the gateway. This ensures the register byte order is correct for data exchange.
