FAQ

Why isn't the charging station appearing in the commissioning wizard?

Check that the charging station is connected via Ethernet at the RJ45 port, DIP switch 2 is set to OFF, and Modbus TCP is enabled in the Local Load Management settings. Restart the gateway and wait for the network scan to complete.

How do I update the firmware of the charging station?

The firmware update can be performed through the web portal. For detailed update instructions, refer to the official Vestel documentation.

What are the login credentials for the Vestel web portal?

The installer credentials are configured during the initial commissioning of the charging station. On first login, you will be prompted to change the default password.

What if I have forgotten the installer credentials?

Perform a factory reset on the device to restore the original factory settings. Refer to the manufacturer's documentation for instructions on initiating a hard reset without web portal access.

Do I need to deactivate OCPP?

On devices with software version v2.99.3 or earlier, an active OCPP connection conflicts with Modbus TCP. If your charging station is running v2.99.3 or earlier, disable OCPP:

  1. Navigate to:
    OCPP SettingsOCPP Connection

  2. Select Disabled

  3. Save the settings

How do I perform a system reset?

Navigate to System Maintenance in the web portal. You can choose between:

  • Soft reset: Restarts the charger without clearing settings

  • Hard reset: Restores factory default settings

Use the hard reset only if instructed by support or when troubleshooting persistent issues.

What if I can't access the web portal?

Verify that:

  • The charging station is powered on

  • The Ethernet cable is properly connected (or USB connection is secure)

  • No firewall is blocking the connection

If issues persist, try connecting via USB TYPE-A instead of Ethernet, or refer to the manufacturer documentation for the default IP address.
