Before you start
Before you begin, make sure:
The charging station is physically installed and powered on
The charging station is updated to the latest software version
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Connect the charging station to the network
Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port on the charging station
Verify the connection is established by checking the LED indicators on the charging station
For network infrastructure requirements and troubleshooting, see Infrastructure requirements for the gateway.
2. Configure the charging station via DIP switches
The charging station is configured using DIP switches. Set the following switches (ON = 1, OFF = 0):
DIP switch 1.3:
ONDIP switch 2.5:
OFFAll other switches: leave at default
Changes to the DIP switch settings only take effect after a restart. To restart, press the Service button (T1) until the first signal tone (approximately 1 second), or briefly disconnect the charging station from the power supply via the circuit breaker.
3. Discover the charging station in the commissioning wizard
The charging station is now ready for the commissioning wizard. The gateway will scan the network to find available devices, which may take a few minutes. Once complete, the charging station will appear on the results page.
FAQ
Why isn't the charging station appearing in the commissioning wizard?
Check that the charging station is connected via Ethernet at the LSA+ port (X4) or RJ45 port (X3). Verify the DIP switch settings are correct (DIP 1.3 = ON, DIP 2.5 = OFF) and that the charging station has been restarted after any DIP switch changes. Restart the gateway and wait for the network scan to complete.
How do I update the firmware of the charging station?
The firmware update can be performed through the web portal or the OCPP backend. For detailed update instructions, refer to the official KEBA documentation.
Why do I need to configure DIP switches?
The DIP switch settings enable the UDP/JSON communication protocol that the gateway uses to communicate with the charging station. DIP switch 1.3 activates the required network functionality, and DIP switch 2.5 must be deactivated for correct operation.
Do I need to restart the charging station after changing DIP switches?
Yes. Changes to DIP switch settings only take effect after a restart of the charging station. Press the Service button (T1) until the first signal tone (approximately 1 second) or briefly disconnect the charging station from the power supply via the circuit breaker.
Which Ethernet port should I use on the charging station?
The charging station has two options: the LSA+ port (X4) for a punch-down style connection and the RJ45 port (X3) for a standard patch cable. Use whichever matches the cabling at the installation site. Both ports support the same network connection.
